Concrete Contractors in Ireland

Concrete contractors form, reinforce, pour, finish and cure structural concrete on site — foundations, rising walls, ground-bearing and reinforced slabs, machine bases, tank bases and external hard standings.

Overview

Concrete is unforgiving: the sub-base, the reinforcement cover, the pour and the cure all have to be right the first time because the fix for a bad slab is usually breaking it out.

Rayco Civils is a civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Monamolin, Co. Wexford, working on sites across Ireland. Send drawings or a site location and we will price the works.

Scope of works

Strip, pad and raft foundations
Rising walls and ground beams
Ground-bearing and reinforced floor slabs
Machine bases, tank bases and plinths
External hard standings, yards and aprons
Power float and brush finishes as specified

Preparation decides the result

Before any concrete arrives, the sub-base is compacted and levelled, blinding and membranes are placed, reinforcement is fixed with correct cover and shuttering is braced. Most slab failures start below the concrete rather than in it.

Pour, finish and cure

Pours are planned around access, volume and weather. Finishes are matched to use — power float for internal floors, brushed or tamped for external falls — and curing is protected so the surface gains strength properly rather than drying out.

Joints, falls and drainage

Joint layout and falls are set out before the pour so slabs crack where intended and water runs where it should. External slabs are graded to gullies or channels rather than left flat.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply the concrete as well as pour it?

Concrete is ordered from local ready-mix suppliers to the specified mix. Supply can be included in the quotation or arranged by the client.

Can you pour in cold or wet weather?

Pours are planned around the forecast. Where conditions are marginal, protection and mix adjustments are used, and where conditions are unsuitable the pour is rescheduled rather than risked.
