Rayco Civils carries out excavation works on construction sites across Ireland — bulk excavation, reduced-level dig, basement and foundation excavation, trenching and rock breaking. Dig depths and formation levels are set out from engineer's drawings, spoil is separated for re-use or licensed disposal, and formations are left clean and ready for inspection.
Excavation covers bulk dig, reduced-level excavation, foundation and basement dig, and trenching for drainage and ducting. Depths and formation levels are taken from the engineer's drawings, spoil is separated for re-use or licensed disposal, and where the dig meets rock a hydraulic hammer is used. Rayco Civils excavates with its own plant and operators nationwide.
Service drawings are reviewed and routes scanned before digging, and excavation near known services is hand-dug. Excavation edges are protected, spoil is set back, and deeper trenches are battered or supported before anyone enters.
Rock is broken out with a hydraulic hammer on the excavator. We flag it as soon as it appears, because it changes both the programme and the volume of material to be removed.
Suitable material is often re-used as engineered fill or in landscaping, which cuts both cart-away and imported fill. Unsuitable or contaminated material is removed to a licensed facility.
Depth is governed by the design, the ground conditions and safe support of the excavation rather than by the machine alone. Deeper digs are planned with battering, benching or support in advance.
